Today, when I opened Internet Explorer by mistake (I use Firefox in 99% of the cases), I noticed an article on MSN that talked about this subject. Aparently there’s an expert on what women should ou should not wear on the office. I found it interesting, mainly because she’s an american. (just a note and point: nothing against you over there in the US of A…)

Basically, the lady gives some advice concerning cleavage, legs, shoes and… intelligence. This was what made me read the article. Intelligence (not geekness) IS sexy. I wonder why people don’t get this…But don’t take it by my word, read what the lady says…

There you go, it has risen again. But even worst than that is the board of Galp announced 109 million euro of profit alone, they went asking to the government to lower the taxes on fuels… I agree that 61% of tax in the price of diesel or gasoline is too much, but Galp could perfectly lower the prices… After all, in Spain they practice prices much lower than here (about 30 euro cents per litre of diesel) and the tax diference is only of 3%…

I’ve been re-watching this Sci-Fi series. I’m a true fan of the series and I don’t recall being so stuck to the screen for a long time now. Maybe this enthusiasm is comparable to the one I had for series like Battlestar Gallatica (original) or Blue Thunder (Raio Azul).

Anyway, Babylon 5 is stayed in my memory as one of my favourites, mainly because of the concept and the story itself. Basically everything in that place is politics and, as G’Kar once said, nobody there is what they appear to be.

Conspiracies, influences, searches for power, corruption, games of interest, everything day-today things which, placed on the futuristic scenario of a space, multi-species civilization, turns out into a perfectly possible story. Maybe my pragmatic and my dreamer sides teamed up together to make me like this series…

Well, nothing better than some controversy to start the week …

People has been talking about a possible crisis with prices of basic foodstuffs. All because of the increased cereal prices, caused by its use to manufacture biofuels and stuff. But is about of biofuels that I’ll talk. In this and in other another one more controversial.

Biofuels seemed to be the best thing invented since sliced bread. Seemed so, but are not. At least the way folks are looking at them… Basically, for a change, we took a good idea and turned it into a bad idea. Growing cereals to make fuel? Is everybody crazy? There are other ways, with less impact on the lives of poor countries, instead of cereals. Everybodyu knows that pig shit is rich in methane… Hello? It that so hard? Emissions? Biodiesel has no emissions? Again, something does not fit.

But okay, it really has to be on cereal? No problem … 1 word: transgenics! What is the danger of the use of transgenics to produce biofuel? I would even use them to fight hunger in Africa, but the so called environmentalists don’t want you tu use transgenics. Oh well…Just shallow and empty idealisms. Cereals and vegetables that are able to grow with little water, could solve many problems in Africa … But I don’t know nothing about none of this…;)
